{Whimiscal Feature} A Few Of My Favorite Things

Nicole Bailey from Your Party Plannery sent me this great “A Few Of My Favorite Things” party that she did for her daughter Holly! What a great idea! When you can’t decide on a theme… why not have it all? Here is what Nicole had to say.

The theme and title of the party was “Holly’s 6th these are a few of my favorite things party”. It is a play on the sound of music, without the sound of music! lol! To start my ideas process for this party I sat down with Holly and asked her what her favorite things were, she then listed everything that is on the sign in one of the photos. This was my starting point for this party and I planned everything else around those ideas. I decided that it would then be a party about all of her favorite things and to commemorate that I enlisted a calligrapher to make me a picture with all of the favorite things on it, this picture now sits in my daughter’s room.

I made sure to include all of the things from this picture into the party. We had animals come and visit the party for the children to see, this included a barn owl, baby crocodile and a bunny rabbit. We had animal cookies from Cookie Mummas, which included a lion cookie because of her love for the Lion King. She also said “butterfly cakes like Gran used to make” well her Nanna gave it a go and made some that were very similar and they were all eaten. We had some beautiful cupcakes from Sweet Sensation Cupcakes with handmade strawberries on top, to incorporate Holly’s love for strawberries and also the color scheme which was red, white and pink. The stunning cookie pops in the background were also from Cookie Mummas, and the printables were from Little Spunky Monkey. The colorful macaroons, which are my daughter’s absolute favorite, are from The Mac Factory.

At the end of the party we had a surprise for the kids, we had shut the dining room up because we had a surprise inside, it was a disco! We had a mini smoke machine, disco lights and music pumping. The kids loved it so much and had a ball. We also played a few games, musical statues, best dancer and pass the parcel. All photos were taken by Suzanne Kent Photography.
